It took me quite a while to get this card together and even after it's done, I'm wishing I had used a different color instead of black on the card.  It's done and put together and as soon as I make an envelope for it, it will be postal to someone.

I used this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge ~ love their sketches!!   sketch is posted below.

VLDEC2015 "LAND OF THE FREE Because of the BRAVE" ~ "GOD BLESS AMERICA" Verve stamps Patriotic card

I haven't made a Patriotic card in a while which is too long of a while for me.  Red, White and Blue is my favorite color combination.  I unfortunately didn't keep any of my Patriotic paper pads with me, I shipped them all. I did however have a paper pad from Authentique called "Abroad" and there are Red, White and Blue on the pages of the pad.     Not sure if it shows up in the picture or not, but I sponged the edges of the banner, the circle and the dotted strip under the star.

**ON THE LINK BELOW FOR THE SKETCH..  is a link to a FREE download of Cup of Kindness.. A Free digi stamp set from Verve Stamps.  Thank you!!

The VivalaVerve Sketches is on Holiday Vacation ~ there is a sketch on the post and that is what I used for my card.   I added a strip because my star looked lonely in the corner without it.

SIP26 "LOT OF ASSORTED QUICK & EASY CHRISTMAS CARDS"

Last weekend I purchased a paper pad at Michael's that is from Recollections and called Red & White Christmas. There are two sheets in the pad that have all these panels on them. I cut them all apart and layered them onto black card stock.  I then cut apart a gray and a red sheet of pattern paper from the pad and layered them onto black card stock.   .. fast forward to Tuesday when the new Stamp Ink Paper challenge #26 was posted so I decided to cut a bunch of little flag banners and get to making some cards.    I have a bunch more of these panels to use on cards, but only put this group together last night. Two of the panels had no sayings on them, so I stamped the "May Your Days Be Merry & Bright" stamp from the Joy To The World on them.

SSSC297 "HO HO HO MERRY CHRISTMAS" Crazy Bird card

As soon as I saw this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #297 I knew right away that I wanted to use my Crazy Bird and Crazy Talk stamps.   I colored several birds, but couldn't get the  coloring I liked with Reds and Blues.  I decided to color one in blues and then die cut it, but didn't do a good job die-cutting ~ so I tossed it aside. I colored another bird and then took the piece of card stock I had die-cut the other bird from and used it as a template to get the die lined up right this time.    The Crazy Bird stamps just crack me up!

Here is this week's SSSC297 Sketch

MFTWSC257 "YOU ARE MY FAVORITE.. NUFF SAID" Jimmie Johnson card

I have been trying to get this card uploaded all night ~ however my son needed to use the laptop for some homework, so I had to wait.  I was trying to get it loaded since tonight is the NASCAR Championship Banquet.  My favorite driver is Jimmie Johnson.  A couple of months ago I saw a post in a FB resale group I am in, for a package of 12 x 12 Jimmie Johnson scrapbook papers.. I about fell out of my seat..  me please!!!  I was over the top to get the papers.

Stashed away in all my stuff that is currently sitting in storage in another state, is my beloved Dale Earnhardt scrapbook papers, stickers, etc.  I have lots of pictures that I took at Rockingham Speedway in 1996. Dale Earnhardt won the race that day. I was so excited that my first NASCAR race and my favorite driver of all time won the race!!!  Anyways..  I kept it all packed up in the packaging it was mailed to me in. I bought it from a scrapbook store that Dale's daughter Kelley owned. My world was rocked the day that Dale died. I didn't watch any NASCAR for a few years. When I started watching again I would pull for a few different drivers, not picking a favorite, then one day I decided that Jimmie Johnson was the driver for me to pull for. It was an easy pick, since his main sponsor is my favorite store in whole wide world~ LOWE'S!!!

Okay.. back to the card..  I used this week's MFTWSC257 for my card:

SUPPLIES:
card stock: white, black, MFT Lemon Drop. Pattern Paper Jimmie Johnson by EK Success
stamps:  Paper Smooches Uplifters
ink: Versafine Black
accessories:  Scor-Pal, MFT Circle Stax, MFT Star Stax, MFT Fishtail Banners Stax, Darice Star Embossing Folder, Paper Piercer, Black Brads and Foam Tape

MFTWSC257 "I LOVE YOU WITH ALL MY HEART" card

This week's MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge is a pretty neat sketch.  I shipped my corner rounder, so I wasn't able to do any corner rounding. I decided to use a Tag instead and I just happened to have some polka dot paper to use on it.    I used a MFT stamp set that has coordinating dies to go with it. I purchased the stamps and dies while in TN recently.

Here is the sketch I used: MFTWSC257

"GO SPARTANS" Michigan State Spartans Card

Ahhh..   With College Football and Basketball season in full swing, we are enjoying watching our boys in GREEN and WHITE playing so well.  Today I decided to pull out my Silhouette Cameo and get to cutting.  I have a bunch of Michigan State University Spartans images saved on my computer, so it was easy to get started cutting things out.  It took a few cuts to get things the right size.

A while back I downloaded the free MICHIGAN STATE SPARTANS FONT. I cut out the State "S" and then "Go Spartans".  I then cut the Spartan head out of white and green card stock, and then inlaid the white into the green.  I wish I had done that with the letters, because it would've been so much easier to line them up.   My husband called it a "masterpiece" and my son said it was "cool", so I'm happy with the way it turned out.

SUPPLIES;

card stock: white, Papertrey Ink Green, Pattern Paper Echo Park Dots & Stripes "Emerald Dots"
accessories; Scor-Pal, Silhouette Cameo, Double Sided tape and Foam Tape

SSSC297 "HOLIDAY WISHES" w/Color Layering Christmas Tree

What a fun sketch this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #277 is. I love the diagonal panel on the sketch.  I thought I'd use a new stamp set by Hero Arts called Color Layering Christmas Tree.   After stamping several different greens, I stamped a layer with Hero Arts White ink.  I wish I hadn't shipped all my embossing folders and heat gun, or I would've embossed the white on it to look like show.

Since I couldn't emboss the white, I took my Clear Wink of Stella pen and went over the areas that I had stamped in white.  It makes the tree shimmery like the striped paper.

Here is the sketch that I used: SSSC297

SUPPLIES:
card stock: white and red. pattern paper is glittery green striped papers (not sure who it is made by, might be American Crafts because I bought it at Tuesday Morning around the time that a lot of the papers were by them)
stamps: Hero Arts Color Layering Christmas Tree
ink: Assorted Greens, Hero Arts White, Versafine Black
accessories: Scor-Pal, Foam Tape

PPA277 "HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS" Foil card

I liked the Pals Paper Arts Sketch #277 so much that I made another card using it.   I used some awesome foil paper that I bought at Michael's last week.  What a site it is when embossed.  I stamped the tree on it and a star, but the ink smeared on the star, so I die-cut one.  I put clear packing tape over the tree. Not sure why in the image it looks blurry at the bottom ~ might just be the way the tape reflected when I took the picture.

SUPPLIES:

card stock:  white, Bazzill Red, Craft Smith Foil Paper (6 x 6 paper pad from Michael's)
stamps:  Just Rite Extra Grand Holiday Sentiments, Hero Arts Joy To The World
ink :Versafine Black
accessories:  Scor=Pal, Basic Grey Christmas Embossing Folder, Clear Packing Tape, MFT Star from a Blueprints set and Foam Tape
