Embossed Butterfly "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" cards

I am extremely behind on sending out birthday cards..  in the card making world, I have on a hiatus so to speak and I say that because saying I have been "lazy" didn't sound too good. haha

Yesterday I wanted to use a new embossing folder that I purchased ohhh, maybe a month ago and I just now opened it.  The butterflies are so pretty.    I decided to emboss some pieces and make some birthday cards.   They were super easy to make.

I used black, white and yellow card stock, a Martha Stewart Butterfly punch, the Happy Birthday stamp is from a Hero Arts stamp set, black ink and the embossing folder is from We R Memory Keepers and called Butterfly.

"I MISS YOU" United States embossed cards

I whipped up these two cards a couple of nights ago.   It was late when I was making them.. and I didn't notice at the time, but the next morning my husband pointed out that the embossing was missing something.. "THE UPPER PENINSULA OF MICHIGAN!!!"..  what the heck.  I live a ways away from the store I bought the folder at, so I am going to try and figure out a way to emboss it in on future cards or see if Sizzix has a non-defective folder that includes the U.P.

The cards were super duper easy to make.  I used Red, White and Blue card stock. The I Miss You stamp is from a Hero Arts Operation Write Home stamp set and I used black ink.

OWH Sketch #256 Assorted cards I made today using sketch.

I made a few cards today using this week's Operation Write Home Sketch #256.

I haven't been in my stamp room a lot lately.. trying to relax a little after a very busy golf season, daughter's high school graduation and then a long drive out of state for her Freshman Orientation at the college she will be attending this fall.   It feels good to get back in the swing of things, crafting wise!

On this card I used some My Mind's Eye Sunny Side papers and an Avery Elle Stamp set called Bright Days.

On this card I also used some My Mind's Eye Sunny Side papers and a stamp from The Stamps of Life called Phrases2Say.

On this card I used some papers that I believe are from American Crafts (bought at Tuesday Morning years ago), a Stampin' UP! Sizzix cut/emboss thingy for the heart and the sentiment is from a Paper Smooches set.

Here is the sketch I used on the cards:  OWH SKETCH #256
