I sat down yesterday after printing off this week's OWH sketch and decided to make some "Thanks" cards.   I ended up making 20 of these cards..  between the cards in the picture above and the picture below.

**The sketch is below..  but here are the measurements I used for these cards:

brown layer:  5 1/4" x 4"
top pattern layer:   5 1/8" x 2 1/4"
bottom white layer: 5 1/8" x 11/2"

stamped strip:  3/4" x 5 1/8"
strip layer: 7/8" x 5 1/8"

circle layers:
brown circle:  1 1/2" circle
white circle:  1 3/8" circle

star punch:
light blue pattern paper large Stampin' UP! punch
brown card stock small Stamin' UP! punch

Stamp is from MFT Sending Thanks
pattern paper is Authentique Gathering paper pad

After I made the first set of 10..    I cut/punched everything I needed for another set of 10.

OWH Midweek Throwdown: LOVE YOU DEARLY in red and white

The Midweek Throwdown Challenge on the Operation Write Home Stars & Stamps blog this week is cards that are either Red & White  or Green & White.   I thought I'd make some "LOVE" cards.

These are SUPER easy to make and to make lots of them in several color combos.

MEASUREMENTS:

card base is:  5 1/2" x 8 1/2" scored at 4 1/4"
solid color (red) layer is:  5 1/4" x 4"
top (white) layer is:  5 1/8" x 3 7/8"

pattern paper strip is 3/4" x 4 1/4" and I cut it diagonally at the one end

The stamp I used is from a Paper Smooches set called Pretty Phrases
The pattern paper is used is from a Simple Stories 6 x 6 paper pad called Snap color vibe.   This pad has 36 sheets of pattern papers in it.. in a range of colors.    You can get 10 stripes from each card.    I cut two strips measuring 3/4" from one side.. then cut that piece down to 4 1/4" x 6".. then turned it and cut the rest of the 3/4" strips from the side making the strips 3/4" x 4 1/4"   hope that makes sense.    Heart is on a dimensional.. the heart is from a Martha Stewart border punch.

I have everything cut to make more cards tomorrow.. but my eyes are bothering me, so I am going to head to bed.    Tomorrow I get to drive to town to pick up my baby (My Armada).. which had some work done on it today..  a new Catalytic Converter and a new compressor for the rear auto leveling system so she's not sagging in the back end.  She's all fixed and was ready for pickup earlier today but we were all the way in another town and wasn't going to be back home to pick up the loaner car and to drive all the way to the other town.

Some super quick "My love for you is a journey... " cards

This afternoon while waiting for my hubby and kids to get ready to head to town..  I seen I had a paper pad laying on my desk.. and I thought I'd make some quick cards while I was waiting.

I got a whole bunch of MFT stamps and die for Christmas and the sentiment is from one of the sets,  Journey.    The bicycle stamp/die is from a Hero Arts/Sizzix set.     The card stock is Midnight Muse, cream and My Mind's Eye.

I will add these to my box of cards for Operation Write Home.

MFT Pure Innocence "Miss You" card

This sweet PI girl was one of the sets in a huge box of all new MFT goodies that I received for Christmas.

I colored the skin, hair and bench last night..  then today I paper pieced her clothes.. and looking at it, I now realized I missed coloring in the heart on her hair..  oh my~!~!!

I used some new MFT Die-namics that I received as well.. the scallop edge, the pierced square stax and the heart.

Last week I mailed 663 cards to Operation Write Home.. and I have about 50-60 sitting here in a bin that's the beginning of a new large flat rate box.  I will add this one with the others.

Sending You Love ~ Red, White and Blue card

I wanted to make something and remembered that there was a new OWH sketch that was posted on Sunday morning..  I didn't want to walk upstairs to print it off.. so I pulled it up on my phone and scribbled it out on my grid paper.. and got busy.  I thought I'd use a stamp from one of the Hero Arts ~ Operation Write Home fundraiser sets.

Here's my finished card... love the Red, White and Blue!!

a handful more Penguin cards for Operation Write Home

I made these super quick cards for OWH using some more of the Penguin paper I found in my stash...  they are already on their way to WA state ~ Sandy at Operation Write Home.

Some more Penguin cards "THANK YOU" cards

I used this an OWH sketch for these cards.   I made the one
above and then set out to make more.  I left the flowers off of the others.. and changed the pennants after the first three cards.. to doing strips.

I usually always make one card..   and if I like it, I cut and then make a bunch more.. I didn't do this with the strips.. and should've because I would've made them less wide and shorter..  but I had already cut everything and had the layers all together when I realized that they covered up nearly the whole heart layer.. oh well.. I still like the way they turned out.. and they are already all on their way to Operation Write Home.

BIG lots of Penguin "THANK YOU" cards

Lots more Penguin "Thank You" cards...    this first one I ended up making 10 of.

pattern paper unknown,  Thank You Hero Arts

I cased a layout from the upcoming Stampin' UP! Sale-a-bration catalog for these cards.   sentiment Hero Arts.

Here I am about to assemble a bunch of these cards..  I didn't take a picture of them when I was done.. not sure why.    sentiment is from Paper Smooches.   NOTE:  those measurements are not for this card.. but rather the ones pictured above this one..   where I scribbled the layout with measurements beside it are what I used for these cards...     sorry for any confusion.

Here these cards are all about done..just needed the sentiment strips put on them.

These are some random cards I made using up some pieces of the Penguin papers that was laying on my desk.
