Lots of cards!!! I Love You So Much

I had the house all to myself today. My two youngest were in school and my husband took our oldest daughter to the lake fishing in the boat. I turned on Roku and cranked up Pandora.. on the Bee Gees channel of course ~ my favorite!!

I got busy cutting some papers.... this time I grabbed a pack of some Stampin' UP! Designer Series Paper.. can't remember the name of it, it was on the clearance rack on the site, might still be. Not all the sheets in the pack are double sided. The light pink polka dotted strip is like card cover.. nice and thick, the heart piece is regular paper.

NOTE: my kraft paper looks terribly fuzzy on the edges.. I used a sanding block and trimmed them down.. I should've been using my Tonic trimmer to cut them.. but grabbed an old Fiskars cutter and the blade is long past due to be replaced.

I used the same layout as the last two days.. and then I turned it around .. then added some brads and I "really" liked the way they turned out.

Here are the measurements:

strip across top is a 1" strip with a 1 1/8" layer under it
the lower piece is 2" x 3" with a 2 1/8" x 3 1/8" layer under it.

The circles are based on what size sentiment you are using

Wishing you a Beautiful Day!!

This card.. and the other that I made of it were kinda "throw togethers" while playing with dies and stamps and markers... always fun to do that.

The die is a MFT Die-namics die, the sentiment is MFT, the flower is from a Hero Arts sympathy set, the bling was colored with a Bic Mark-It red marker. I put dimensionals under the die cut and that was it.. some more super quick cards.

You Make Me Smile... set of cards

I made six of these cards today. I used the same layout/sketch as the cards I made last night.

This is how I had things ready before I assembled them all together.. I punched, cut and stamped all that I needed and then got busy putting them together. The butterflies ended up being punched out of some other papers.. I didn't realize I had put the strips on the wrong side in the photo.. and when flipped over it was the same as the butterflies.. oops! so I punched them out of another piece of pattern paper.

These are super easy to make. Here are the measurements:

strip across top is a 1" strip with a 1 1/8" layer under it
the lower piece is 2" x 3" with a 2 1/8" x 3 1/8" layer under it.

The circles are based on what size sentiment you are using.. I made a card this morning that was like the ones yesterday.. I used an oval on it because the sentiment I was using was a tad wider then these. I didn't photograph it because it went right in the envelope to be mailed out.

I'll Be Home For Christmas... quick & easy card

Yesterday while I had some time before the kids were due home from school and I had to go to the bus stop and pick them up.. 1 mile from the house, I put together two of these Christmas cards.

They were super easy to make. I used a tree stamp from a Stampin' UP! set that I bought last year and I paired it with a sentiment from a new Hero Arts ~ Operation Write Home set called Winter Wishes. Some ribbon, a scallop border, rounded corner and it's done. super easy!

Hey Lil' Monster... HUGE Hugs !!! cards for kiddos

My cards are based off this week's OWH Sketch Challenge #135. I bought a bunch of papers from Tuesday Morning and had to use them on some cards (justifys purchase you know!.. ha ha) I ended up making 8 of these cards so far. When I took the pictures I had three done.. but kept on making them. The card bases are this really cool holographic paper and the "monster/alien" layer has shiny stuff on it.. such neat papers. I hope the kiddos that receive them enjoy them.

Hey Lil' Monster... hope you have a monster sized birthday!!

I decided to make another card for this week's OWH Midweek Throwdown Challenge, which is to make KIDS cards. I pulled out a Hero Arts set that I got when I bought a big lot of stamps from someone a while back.

I paper pieced the "monsters" and when I was done with the card I set out to find the "googlie eye".. and could only find a pack of small ones. I know I have more, I even have some with eyelashes.. but they are not in any of the drawers/bins downstairs.. they are probably among one of the boxes that are stuck upstairs in a closet.. maybe I'll find some time next week and see if I can look through the boxes to find some of the bigger ones.

OWH Sketch Challenge #132 ... ~ Big Hugs ~ ...

This morning I thought I'd make another card using this week's sketch layout from the OWH Stars & Stamps Blog. I had stamped the image last night, actually stamped a whole sheet of them and sat down to watch the Olympics and color.. but I ended up watching Olympics and not coloring anything.. haha.. this morning I colored the image and set out to make the card. I had my pieces cut to fit the sketch as it is below.. but the sentiment didn't fit so I had to turn it and my "paper dolls" piece wasn't long enough for the whole card.. but it works and I really like how it turned out.. I hope whoever receives it likes it as well.

Here is the sketch that I used:

Supplies for this card:

card stock: Stampin' UP! Not Quite Navy, white
pattern paper: My Mind's Eye Fine and Dandy pad
ink: Memento black and copics
stamps: Pure Innocence-MFT Paper Dolls
accessories: CB embossing folder, MFT Die-namics Paper Doll border, Stampin' UP! Label punch, orange button, yellow/white twine, and Dimensionals!!!
